Next Meeting-Cochlear Implant Speaker

Speaker: Anne Marie Killilea, MS, DNP candidate

 Topic:   “Talk to My Face, Not to my Feet”

 Anne Marie Killilea is a bilateral cochlear implanted registered nurse. She will talk about how to advocate for your needs when seeing a medical professional; particularly when your hearing loss presents difficulty in understanding what is being communicated. In today world of electronic recordkeeping, it is becoming more common for the doctor and nurse practitioner to be looking into their computer screen while asking you questions at the same time. Anne Marie’s experiences are rich with direct practice and teaching. She has presented on a local and national level with an emphasis on communication needs and cultural competency with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Be sure to mark your calendar and bring your questions and experiences for discussion.

There will be CART. Below is the direction to the library as you must access the building from Patty Lane.
